How to set up WIFI for the device

Getting started
Connect one end of the communications cable to your Energie Genie, and the other end to the COM port of your inverter. The Energie Genie should turn on.
Your inverter should be assigned a slave address or server address of 1 (this is the default for most inverters – if unsure, please check the manual of your inverter).
A brand new Energie Genie should start with the WIFI Configuration Portal running (the white LED will be flashing slowly). if you need to reset your Energie Genie, please see Resetting Energie Genie.

WIFI configuration portal
Your Energie Genie is ready to be connected to your WiFi network if the white LED is flashing slowly (½ second on, ½ second off). If the WiFi has already been configured & you need to change it, please see Resetting Energie Genie.
Using a computer, phone or tablet connect to the Wii network named EnergieGenie_xxxxxx
The password for the WiFi Configuration Portal is genie123

Usually the WiFi Configuration Portal will pop up on your screen automatically:

(If it doesn’t appear automatically, open a web browser, and browse to http://10.10.10.10/) Select the Configure WiFi button. There will be a delay of a few seconds while your Energie Genie looks for all the available WiFi networks, then it will display a list:

Select your WiFi network from the list, and enter its password in the box. Then type your email address in the box below. It’s important to get your email address correct, as your Energie Genie uses your email to link its self to your Energie Genie account.
If you already have an Energie Account, use the same email address. Don’t worry if you don’t have an account yet – we’ll create one for you & send you an email to help you set it up.

Select the Save button, and Energie Genie will try connecting to your WiFi, and then connect to the internet to register itself with your account.
The white LED will turn on solid while it tries to connect to your WiFi. When complete the white LED will go out, and your Energie Genie is working correctly
The WiFi Configuration Portal usually disappears automatically at this point, but if it doesn’t, you can close the window now.
At this point you can check your email – we will send you an email shortly with a link to our Customer Portal to set everything up.
If there was a problem connecting to the WiFi (e.g. a wrong password), then the white LED will start flashing slowly again to show that the WiFi Configuration Portal is still available.
In this case, repeat the above instructions. You won’t have to enter your email address again as your Energie Genie will have remembered it securely.
Resetting Energie Genie
If you need to change the WiFi settings on your Energie Genie, you can reactivate the WiFi Configuration Portal in either of these two ways:
When the white LED flashes slowly (½ second on, ½ second off) the saved WiFi details have been erased, and the WiFi Configuration Portal is active again. Follow the instructions in the WiFi Configuration Portal section to set up new details.
If you want to disconnect the Energie Genie from your Energie Genie account, then after resetting the WiFi details, visit the WiFi Configuration Portal and select the Erase all settings button.
This will erase all configuration data from the Energie Genie and return it to the factory default settings

Your Energie Genie has been supplied with a data logger for your brand of inverter installed inside it.
Energie Genie does not share any personal data with the manufacturer of the data logger, so you will need to set up the data logger functionality separately. We recommend the following link;
